Create the Bootable Media

The easiest way to install OpenBosniana OS is by using a USB stick. If your system does not support booting from USB, you can use a blank DVD instead.

How to Make a Bootable USB Stick

To create a bootable USB stick, use Etcher, which works on OpenBosniana OS, Windows, macOS, and other Linux distributions.

  1. Download Etcher, install it, and run the application.

    Using Etcher

  2. Click Select image and choose your ISO file.

  3. Click Select drive and select your USB stick.
  4. Click Flash! to start creating the bootable USB stick.

How to Make a Bootable DVD

Although optical discs are slower and more error-prone, you can still create a bootable DVD.

Note Burn the DVD at the lowest possible speed to prevent errors.

Warning Ensure you burn the content of the ISO, not the ISO file itself. After burning, your DVD should contain directories like boot, isolinux, and EFI. It should not contain just the .iso file.

In Linux

Install and use xfburn to burn the ISO to a DVD.

In Windows

  1. Right-click the ISO file and select Burn disk image.
  2. Enable the option Verify disc after burning to ensure there are no errors.

In macOS

  1. Right-click the ISO file and select Burn Disk Image to Disc.
